Joey Zale was quick, responsive and courteous. Once the loan moved forward, I was put into contact with Dee Lacey who processed the loan. Dee was always very helpful in helping me get the correct information for the loan approval. Somehow the approval took a little longer than my expectation, their closing agent Emilio was helpful too. All in all, I would highly recommend this lender and would consider using them in the future.

I was initially skeptical of UMFC because they were so highly rated with the lowest rate and fees (too good to be true I had wondered?), but I had a friend who is a loan officer for a big-name lender check for me and can assure you they are the real deal. I chose them because of their rating and categorization on bankrate.com, along with lowest rate and fees. When I called, I was put through to Andy Beeman who was very knowledgeable about the complex VA loan and was patient, understanding, and responsive throughout the entire rather complex and lengthy (as is typical for VA loans) process. After calling a number of lenders and shopping quite a bit, I decided on United Mutual Funding.

Patrick and Magaly both worked with me on my loan. They were quick to respond to my questions and requests for quotes - unlike many of the other companies I talked to. Additionally, they provided very detailed advice which helped me greatly in deciding on the right loan. And in the end, after looking at the true costs of all of the quotes, their closing costs at the rate I was looking for was the lowest.

I came to UMFC with a particularly challenging purchase of a property that had been offered by an investment corporation prior to the appropriate holding period after renovation. First, let me say that my refinance experience with United Mutual Funding (UMF) was extraordinary. There are thousands of mortgage finance companies, and in my experience, most give the impression that they are in a hurry to churn through clients. Other companies give the impression of "fly by night" operations. I contacted several other lenders prior to UMF, all of which were well rated. One of the other lenders charged me a very high upfront fee. That company was later the defendant in a class action lawsuit and had to return all the money. Another well renowned lender provided an interest rate considerably above the going rate.

UMF explained everything very clearly and were very courteous from start to finish. The rate I received on my first refinance was very low and I was very happy with it. I then decided to do another refinance on my second home with UMF. The process went very smoothly, and again I received outstanding service.

You won’t regret using them

I chose this firm because they were not a big national bank so I felt I would get more personal attention. This was my first refinance, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My loan officer and processor were very responsive to any concerns during the process. We had an issue verifying income, but the team came through. My loan went to the underwriters and came out in about a week. The only small concern that I had during the process was I never actually met my loan officer and his team in person. All our correspondence was through email and phone calls. I guess that’s how things work in 2013. Overall, it was a great experience.
